Community Transformation Begins With You

Shape your passion with an online Master of Social Work.

Social work represents a deeply personal calling to serve others. From seemingly small local efforts to global change initiatives, social workers honor an innate conviction to care for the vulnerable and to facilitate social justice and equality. Since 1957, the Yeshiva School of Social Work has been training those who are called to this field, preparing them to help repair and transform the world through group social work, community practice and advanced clinical practice with individuals and families.

Fieldwork is a critical component of our on-ground and online programs. For most students, this provides initial exposure to client work and helps in developing professional comportment. By practicing the skills essential to success in social work, students are better able to internalize and understand the lessons delivered in their classes.

Fit Your Work to Your Life

Yeshiva is proud to offer both full- and part-time scheduling options in order to make the online MSW accessible to as many students as possible. Part-time students take one course per term, as opposed to the full-time schedule of two, and can expect to complete 15-20 hours of work per week. And don’t worry if the demands on your time change over the years: you can select whichever course load works for you on a term-by-term basis.

† Degree Completion Scholarship offer available only to qualified new (first-time) enrollees for the Online Master of Social Work programs, not current or returning students to the program. Scholarship funds not payable directly to recipient. For traditional online MSW, half of the scholarship funds will be credited toward the tuition after completing 30 credits and then remaining amount will be credited toward tuition in the student’s final academic term of the program. Students enrolled in advanced standing will receive full amount of funds toward tuition in the student’s final academic term of the program. If student receives other forms of financial assistance, the student's financial assistance may require modification to account for the scholarship by preventing any 'over-award,' such that the total financial assistance received does not exceed the cost of attendance, as defined and determined by the Office of Financial Aid of Yeshiva University. Recipients of the scholarship must remain continuously enrolled in the program through completion. Exceptions may be granted for students who obtain a university-approved leave of absence. Students receiving the scholarship must maintain satisfactory academic progress at all times for scholarship to remain in effect. This scholarship offer may be revised, rescinded or terminated at any time. All admissions and scholarship decisions of Yeshiva School of Social Work are final.

10% Scholarship for the Online Master of Social Work

Our online Master of Social Work (MSW) program is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and combines a comprehensive curriculum with attentive faculty mentorship and supervised fieldwork. Accomplish More with
a CASAC Credential

The Joint MSW and Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) Credentialing program provides our students the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of addiction counseling. They still gain the core skills and techniques foundational to our online Master of Social Work degree, but graduates will also walk away with an additional credential demonstrating their focus on treating those struggling with substance abuse.

Through this additional certification, students are prepared to better address the issues faced by the aging and by those with serious illnesses: difficult decisions about treatment options; advanced care planning; depression, stress and other mental health concerns; conflict resolution between family members; and communicating and coordinating with doctors and medical staff.
